Dengue fever is a disease that is spread by a special kind of mosquito, which is found in clean water. After having been bitten by mosquitoes, which carry the dengue poison, a period of three to six days elapses before the disease develops. The attack is usually sudden. There is first a feeling of chilliness, followed by severe pain in some parts of the body, such as the limbs, back or head. There is always a splitting headache, most server in the frontal region and back of the eyes. The eyes become red and watery. The temperature rises rapidly from 103 to 105 degree Fahrenheit. There is no appetite. Nausea and vomiting are not uncommon. In children, convulsions and delirium are common. One the third day the temperature usually falls, accompanied by profuse perspiration, the passage of much urine and sometimes violent diarrhea. After this the patient feels well for a day or two, then the pain come on again, and the temperature comes up. A rash may appear on the arms, trunk and legs. This second rise of temperature usually lasts but a short time, and then goes down to normal.

A dengue fever patient should be kept in bed and protected day and night by a mosquito-net to prevent mosquitoes from biting him and transmitting the disease to others. Restrict the diet to rice-gruel, soft-boiled eggs and fruit. At the outset, give a dose of castor-oil or Epsom salts. Apply cold cloths or ice to the head to relieve the headache. Give the patient cool boiled water and fruit juices or lemonade to drink. Apply formentations to the painful parts.

To prevent the disease, it is only necessary to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes. This can be done by covering your clean water bowls.

Formentations:-

Formentation is an other treatment which can be given to the patient, in the following manner:-

Select a piece of blanket or flannel large enough to fit over the chest or back. Fold it into a pack, dip it in very hot water, and wring it out as dry as possible. Wrap this in a dry towel, or other material thick enough to protect the skin, and apply the whole pack to the area to be treated. This is know as a formentation.

Leave the hot pack in place for ten or fifteen minutes, or until it is cool. Then rub the area with a small piece of ice or a cold cloth and dry the skin with a rough Turkish towel. The pack, or formention, may be reapplied several times, as desired. Follow this with some massage or heavy rubbing. While treating the patient with a chest cold, first apply the formentation to the back, and then later treat the chest. At the end of this treatment, wipe the skin dry and apply some soothing lotion.

For a long time now, the search has been on for effective remedies to sinus ailments. Way before modern medicine arrived, remedies were composed of common household ingredients. Despite new medicine courtesy of science, these remedies from the past can still hold their own and can still be effective today in decongesting your sinus.

For instance, cayenne pepper was one remedy that was effective. A single teaspoon in a cup of hot water, taken three times a day provided relief. Then there is eucalyptus which has many proponents. One way of using it was by mixing eucalyptus oil with hot water and inhaling the steam for about 10 minutes. An inhaler made from a mix of water and salt is quite effective and is also recommended by doctors today. The herb thyme which possesses antiseptic properties in abundance is also used for treating infections in the respiratory system. Typically, 1 to 2 teaspoons of thyme are mixed in a cup of boiling water and taken 3 times a day. These home remedies can be quite effective at treating sinus problems though some may choose to rely solely on modern medicine. One thing about home remedies though is that they may not be able to eliminate infections if they are created by bacteria inside the sinus cavities.

In this case, the infection would be treated with antibiotics though sinusitis caused by viruses or allergies will not respond to this treatment. To relieve these, you may be given decongestants and nasal sprays to address the sinus symptoms. These would normally relieve most of the painful manifestations of a sinus problem. Early treatment is imperative to ensure that it does not turn into a chronic condition.

One simple and drug free treatment involves a simple facial massage. To do this, simply press with your thumbs on the sides of your nose for 15 to 30 seconds, pause then repeat. This can relieve sinus symptoms temporarily by bringing fresh blood to the affected area. Using vaporizers at night is also known to relieve discomfort brought about by the dry night air. Dry air can irritate and exacerbate your sinus discomfort.

Whether you use natural remedies or modern medicine, the bottom line is that any sinus problem must be treated immediately to ensure that it stays as an acute case and does not progress to a chronic one. Chronic sinusitis can be an ordeal, lasting for 3 months or more and lingering for years. You do not wish that upon anyone. So, take quick actions once the initial symptoms arise for the best outcome.

You are what you eat. That is a common saying and yet it is truer than you may think. When it comes to the sinusitis food connection it is very true but not how you may have thought.

The first thing you think about when you think food and sinusitis is what do you eat that is a contributor to your sinus infection symptoms? In other words, can you stop eating certain foods that make sinusitis worse.

The answer is yes but not they way you are thinking. For example, you may be thinking dairy. Dairy makes your mucus thicker and adds to the amount of mucus your body makes, you think. You are wrong about that. There has been no definitive study that has shown that dairy products cause more mucus production. There has been no study that has shown dairy products make mucus thicker.

That is of course, based on the assumption that you are not allergic to dairy products. If you do have an allergy to dairy products then you must avoid them. Allergies are quite a different problem. If you have food allergies you need to avoid all foods that you are allergic to. If your food allergy is not a life threatening one and you can tolerate the item in question you are still best to avoid it.

Most likely the offending food will effect your system so that it will produce more mucus. It may more than likely also produce swelling of the nasal and sinus membranes. You will end up with blockages and more mucus. Certainly a recipe for a sinus infection. Allergic reactions can lead to sinus infections. If you are allergic to foods you must eliminate the ones you are allergic to.

What if you don’t have a food allergy? What food should you give up? The answer is simple. You should give up foods that are not healthy for you to eat. Not exactly the kind of answer you were looking for was it?

You see, the medical profession is now looking at the sinusitis food connection differently than they used. Now they emphasize adding foods to your diet that are good for you and enhance your immune system. The premise is, the healthier you are overall, the better your body can take care of any infections you may have.

Being as that is now the common advice on sinus infection, diets then by extrapolation the foods you should eliminate are the foods that are not healthy for you.

Here are some foods you should have in your diet. One recommended food choice is hot spicy foods. These tend to keep your mucus thin and to some degree can actually help drainage. You’ll appreciate that if you have ever accidentally eaten some plain horseradish or bitten into a hot pepper. Your nose starts running almost instantly.

Increase your intake of anti-oxidants. Anti oxidants help strengthen your immune system. It helps your body to hunt down and destroy cells that damage your body. Fruits and vegetables are high in anti-oxidants. Vitamin A, vitamin C, beta-carotene, vitamin E, zinc and selenium are well known anti-oxidants.

Brightly colored fruits and vegetables are what you should eat. Green, yellow, orange and red are good. Eat fruits and vegetables that are those colors and you will be getting the correct anti-oxidants.

Omega 3 fats are also a recommended and necessary food. In fact, these essential fatty acids do indeed help to reduce inflammation. Less inflammation means less blockages in your sinuses and better drainage. Flax seeds and fish oil are good sources of this.

The sinusitis food connection boils down to this, eat healthy foods that contain essential nutrients your body needs to function at its best. When your body can function better it can fight sinusitis better. It can also protect you from sinusitis when you are infection free. Feeding your body properly all the way around will help you fight your sinus infection.

The most direct cause of boils in the intrusion of bacteria into and under the skin, but other factors may increase susceptibility. For example, people who have compromised immunity may be more vulnerable. In addition, diabetes, poor health and clothes that chafe the skin may increase the likelihood prednisone. of a boil forming (Mayo Clinic).

What causes a Boil? There are many causes of boils. Some common causes are: Ingrown hair Splinter or other foreign material that has become lodged in the skin Plugged sweat glands that become infected.

Hot tub folliculitis is caused by the pseudomonas bacteria that thrive in hot and humid environments. It is usually got from wooden hot tubs. The infected person will develop red itchy bumps on the skin with 12 to 24 hours. These red bumps will form into pus-filled blisters. Persons who have open cuts or sores, those who have diabetes or a history of rash infections are more prone to being infected.

Furuncles are generally caused by Staphylococcus aureus but may be caused by other bacteria or fungi. They may begin as a tender red subcutaneous nodule but ultimately become fluctuant (feel like a water-filled balloon). A furuncle may drain spontaneously, producing pus and a solid core. More often they are opened by the individual, a parent, or a physician.

Root causes:

Boils may cause by staphylococcus germs, which enter the sweat glands or hair follicles. The essential cause of this disorder is thus bacterial. However, several factors predispose the growth of bacteria in hair follicles. Of these, the chief factor is a toxic condition in the blood stream, which is due to a faulty diet and frenetic pace of living. Boils generally appear when a person is in a run- down and devitalized condition.

Signs and Symptoms of Boils

The symptoms of boils are red, pus -filled lumps that are tender, warm, and painful. Boils tend to get larger and more painful over a few days, before bursting and releasing the pus. A yellow or white point at the center of the lump can be seen when the boil is ready to drain or discharge pus. In some people, itching may develop before the lumps begin to develop. Boils are most often found on the back, underarms, shoulders, face, lip, thighs and buttocks, but may be found elsewhere. The same bacteria that cause the boil may also produce a toxin (poison) that causes blood clots, usually in the blood vessels that are around the boil.

Treatment

Treatment is with oral antibiotics (e.g. erythromycin 500 mg four times daily for 10-14 days) and occasionally incision and drainage. Antiseptics such as povidone iodine, chlorhexidine (as soap) and a bath oil (e.g. Oilatum plusT) can be useful in prophylaxis. In acute cases, the treatment consists of: Surgical incision only when the boil is ripe. Course of Septran (P) or penicillin or broad-spectrum antibiotics. Removal or correction of the predisposing cause.

What does a boil look like?

At first, a boil may look a lot like a large bug bite. After it comes to a head, it looks more like a very large pimple.

What is a boil?

A boil is a skin abscess. It is a bacterial infection deep within the skin. White blood cells move in to fight the infection and then there is a build up of bacteria, white blood cells, and proteins known as pus. Boils can be large, itchy, and painful.

What causes boils?

There are several different kinds of boils in several different causes for them but the most common type of is caused by a bacterial infection. This type of boil can be caused by an ingrown hair, a splinter or some other foreign object penetrating the skin, or just coming into contact with the staph bacteria.

How can I get rid of boils?

In more severe cases you will need to visit a doctor to have a boil lanced and drained. Your doctor may also prescribe antibiotics to help eliminate the bacterial infection. For at-home treatment is usually recommended to apply a hot compress to try to bring the boil to a head so that the fluids can be drained. One a hot compress is not enough there are some effective herbal remedies that can be applied at home without a prescription.

The main thing is to find a natural acne pimple remedy that works for your type of skin and adult acne breakout.

You might need to have a little patience and do some trials to find which natural remedy can actually give you a clearer and healthy complexion. There are some common foods that you can actually use to get some relief from stubborn acne pimples. One natural acne treatment that is capable of treating blackheads is a mixture of lime and milk.

To use this as a natural acne cure, first you get some fresh milk and let it boil gently. After this, squeeze the juice from a single lime and use the mixture to gently wash your face. You can also use a natural astringent for deep cleaning of your hair pores. To do this, all you need to do is to get a leafy mango from your grocery shop.

Boil it in water and when it cools, rub the mixture gently on your face. If you are not affected by a severe form of acne, you can leave the mango to soak overnight. This natural acne cure will help in cleansing your hair pores thoroughly. There are so many common foods that are actually effective natural acne treatments.

If you are having troubles with whiteheads (acne pimples) on your skin, you can gently rub your skin with raw potato. The Vitamin C contained in the potato would make your skin glow, and it also clears the acne bacteria on your skin. The acid inside the potato also removes dry and dead skin cells on your skin. This makes this a very good natural treatment. Just like rubbing raw potatoes on your skin, you can also use raw papaya fruit to help clear the acne lesions on your skin.

These natural acne treatments help your skin to remain healthy and prevent any infection from spreading. One complaint you might have after using these natural acne cures is that your skin might become a little dry. To avoid this dryness, you can use almond oil. All you need to do is get a bag of almonds and blend five or six good sized nuts with clean water. Then spread the mixture on your skin but do not scrub. This would add moisture to your skin.

You could also try using curds and buttermilk for skin dryness. Although these natural acne cures do work, the simple truth is most individuals do not have the time to do this every day and so they tend to skip the days they should apply these natural acne cures. If you are looking for a less hassling way of treating your acne pimples, you can use products that contain plant extracts that would help balance your hormones and also a topical acne medication that would fight acne causing bacteria. This would prevent your skin from producing too much oil and prevent acne causing bacteria from developing acne pimples on your skin.

Detailed Information

A boils looks like a huge pimple that sticks up through the skin. Boils are generally caused by an infection of the hair follicles by Staphylococcus aureus or staph, a strain of bacteria that normally lives on the skin surface. In some cases, boils may develop to form abscesses. It is thought that a tiny cut of the skin allows this bacterium to enter the follicles and cause an infection. Individual boils can cluster together and form an interconnected network of boils called carbuncles. Boils in the armpits can sometimes be caused by anti-perspirant deodorants.

Boils are localized tender, inflamed, pus-filled swellings in the skin surrounded by large red areas. They are infections of the hair follicles of the skin. They are quite painful, particularly in areas where the skin is closely attached to the underlying tissues, such as the nose, ears, or fingers. They usually occur in teenagers and young adults. The common sites for boils are the face, neck, and thighs.

Furunculosis is a condition familiar to every one. A furuncle or boil is a deep-seated septic affection of the hair follicle in which the hair rootis completely destroyed and comes out as the core of the boil. Multiple boils are given the anme of furunculoses. A carbuncle is a big conglomeration of boils, the inflammation spreading from one follicle to another under the epidermis. The intervening corium is destroyed and pus is discharged through multiple holes.

Boils and carbuncles are caused by Staphylococcus aureus, a bacterium that causes an infection in an oil gland or hair follicle. Although the surface of human skin is usually resistant to bacterial infection, S. aureus can enter through a break in the skin surfaceincluding breaks caused by needle punctures for insulin or drug injections. Hair follicles that are blocked by greasy creams, petroleum jelly, or similar products are more vulnerable to infection.

A furuncle (boil) is a skin infection involving the entire hair follicle and the adjacent subcutaneous tissue. Almost everyone experiences boils at some time. Staph bacteria are normally found on the skin surface. Damage to the hair follicle allows the bacteria to enter deeper into the tissues of the hair follicle and the subcutaneous tissue. Furuncles may occur in the hair follicles anywhere on the body, but they are most common on the face, neck, armpit, buttocks, and thighs.

A boil is a skin infection that starts in a hair follicle or oil gland. At first, the skin turns red in the area of the infection, and a tender lump develops. After four to seven days, the lump starts turning white as pus collects under the skin. The most common places for boils to appear are on the face, neck, armpits, shoulders, and buttocks. When one forms on the eyelid, it is called a sty. If several boils appear in a group, this is a more serious type of infection called a carbuncle.

I’ve compiled a list of 5 different remedies for eczema. Each of these worked differently for different people. This is intend to give you some ideas only. I would highly suggest you take this information and do your own research. Many of these ideas were emailed to me when I sent out an email survey to eczema sufferers who visited my website.

1) Bag Balm – After a bath, cover effected areas in bag balm. This is especially beneficial before bedtime, one sufferer wrote me.

2) Multiple Oatmeal bathes on a daily basis. Do this at least twice daily, in the morning and again before bed time, worked for a survey taker.

3) Olive oil over effected areas. This works great about 1 hours before bath time, submitted by an anonymous sufferer.

4) Iron and Zinc supplements. I haven’t had any success with this at all, said a suffer through email correspondence.

5) Omega 3 Fatty Acid supplement. Can be very beneficial, but I would definitely research not only the dosage, but the best time of day to take this. Taking this at the wrong time of day can be ineffective. This is something I tried, and had a fair amount of success.

You can try any of these eczema remedies and see what they do for you. I know for me, it took a combination of ideas, and remedies. Most of which I learned from a single source. You can cure this disease, don’t let anyone tell you other wise. But the absolute key is getting to the root cause and not just treating the symptoms.

Every time, the area becomes firm and hard. Blood cells that the body sends from the blood stream to eradicate the infection. This collection of white blood cells, bacteria, and proteins is known as pus. If there are multiple heads, the lesion is called a ‘carbuncle’. Large boils form abscesses, defined as an accumulation of pus within a cavity.

Several boils joined together with tunnels under the skin are called a carbuncle. These germs already exist on the skin and in the nose of some people without causing any problems. Boils often occur in places where clothing catches on the skin, where the body rubs against itself, or where the skin is sweaty.

It is not far away from acne problem and some of us do not even know it. Freckles, boils and carbuncles are more like skin disorder that are yucky in certain cases.

I will start off with freckles which it is a brown spot on the skin due to the skin being exposed to the sun. Skins are sensitive to ultra violet rays thus freckles appear on it when we are in the sun for a long time without protection. Freckles are categorized as 6f in the skin disorder chart but it is not consider skin disease. However, there is natural remedy to this disorder. Firstly, Grind yellow mustard in milk and apply to the face during the night, wash your face the next morning. Secondly, Mix an equal quantity of turmeric and sesame seeds, grind in water and apply to the face. Lastly, Make a hole in the watermelon rind and put some grain of rice in it. Take the rice out after a week, grind and apply it to the face.

Boils are the results of bacterial infection of the hair follicles which occurs around areas covered with coarse hairs and also subject to mild repetition of friction. IT looks like a small red but painful nodule, increasing in size for a few days and become soft at the top of the skin discharges pulse. It usually runs its own course after a few weeks which no treatment required but it leaves a scar after healing. When boils are concentrated at the face which is large, antibiotic administration is needed to ensure it does not spread. If the boils appear on the nose or the upper lip, inside of the nose might get inflamed and might be accompanied by fever. There are some remedies that one can follow to reduce the effects of boils. Food intake must be taken care where sour and fatty foods should be avoided. Take watermelon as it cleanses the blood.

Carbuncles are a group of boils that are close together which may form a larger boil with several opening on its surface. Carbuncles are very painful especially in those areas which are close to the underlying tissue such as nose and skin. It strikes young adults which might also indicate a health problem such as diabetic. However, carbuncles are similar to boils which the remedy is also same. In this case, treatment should be administered to ensure the problem does not spread.

In conclusion, these problems might seem like normal pus growth but sometimes we might misinterpret and can be serious. Even worse if the infection goes to the brain and the damage might be unimaginable.
